The Coromandel is home and muse for me. Its hills and beaches shape my work. I am an artist and a 'maker of things'. I work in different mediums including ceramics, painting, felting and plant dyeing and jewellery. You will see my work in The Source, a local art and design store. We are a co-op and have been working together for eleven years now. We also showcase many other artists from the region.
I also love to design and build! I wanted to create accommodation that reflected the reputation of Coromandel as a destination for artists and creative people. I wanted to build somewhere where I would love to stay and incorporate the sensuality that a bush setting can offer. Everyone must experience bathing under the stars, sitting by a fire in winter, and waking to the soft sound of our native birds!
Indigo is a member of the Coromandel Sustainable Tourism Group. We work to an agreed programme of monitoring and improvemant, monitoring waste, treating wastewater on site, and recycling wherever possible.
The road less travelled...

From Thames, the picturesque 1 hour drive up the Pohutukawa Coast road takes you high over the Kereta hill with spectacular views of the island dotted waters to the north. Alternatively, ferry across the Hauraki Gulf from Auckland via Waiheke Island in just over 2 hours.
